In its February 2021 issue, Business View Magazine interviewed Shane Wombles, President of Paso Robles Tank’s Industrial Division, about how the company adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recognized as an essential business — providing potable water and petroleum storage — PRT kept projects moving after an initial slowdown. New safety measures layered onto an already robust program: wellness checks at every facility, random testing, remote work where possible, reorganized offices for distancing, and stepped-up sanitation.
The feature also details operational hurdles, from longer lead times to steel-plate costs rising more than 50 percent, and how PRT responded with creativity — shifting materials between sites and leaning on longstanding supplier relationships. At the same time, the company invested in its future: expanding its Paso Robles stainless steel department, adding a heat-treat oven in Hemet, and upgrading field tools across its crews.
