This particular tank is part of a two tank expansion project located on a terminal facility. Both tanks are identical in height however this application belongs to the smaller of the two tanks. This tank has a cable suspended aluminum internal floating roof (AIFR) which lowers to no more than 12″ above the ground along the tanks shell in the low leg to mitigate emissions and vapor space. The tank has a gauging system complete with a stilling well ladder. Additionally, it is equipped with both fire foam & fire sprinkler suppression systems. A spiral staircase travels around more than 50% of this tanks circumference as it sits confined to an area just big enough to house the foundations. The facility remained operational throughout the entire erection of both tanks while more than 7 different trades worked alongside one another to bring this project to life.
